Can a firmware be replaced by an official one from another region?

I've got a Galaxy Note Pro from Hong Kong. I've just found with great frustration that the Hong Kong flavour doesn't support Screen Mode settings, and it's default has off yellows. Is it possible to flash this to the UK FW for the same SM-P900 model?

I would think as long as the device models are EXACTLY the same it should be no problem and the kernel version of the new FW is stable.

I found Sammobile and asked on their forum. Someone said I needed to use the app "Phone Info *Samsung*" to check it was a legitimate device. I did that, posted my details, and then the thread was deleted! I don't know what to think. Was mine a knock-off? Was my thread deleted as promoting piracy or something weird?

The phone results looked to me like it was legitimate. The listed manufacturer was Samsung, made in Vietnam, lots of various codes. I bought it from Value Basket. If it is a knock-off, I'm a victim here!

How do I find if it's a legitimate, kosher, authentic Sammy and if it'll take a new FW from Odin?

:(
