Can an experienced themer help me with an xml question please..

I am new to theming. and I am having trouble with xml. I have researched all over and I cannot find an answer. my question is when I open up the horizontal progress xml it is a bunch of yyyyyyy and weird characters. There are no hex values to change the color. It looks nothing like i have seen in guides that show how to change the color of the progress and download bar. I cannot figure it out. I am sure it is quite simple but like I said I am new to all this. I would appreciate any help given very much.
 
Sounds like the xml file your'e looking at has not be decompiled. You'll have to do this in order to see the hex values.

thank you very much that was the problem! now i have a new problem.. all i did was change the 3 values of the gradient color from green to blue in eclipse. saved the xml and try to recompile. and all i get is errors in apk multitool.. i did nothing else but change those 3 numbers. do you know what i might be doing wrong?
 
Ok cool, no problem. Okay what exact errors are you getting? Open up the log and you'll be able to see what errors your'e getting. When I made some custom rom themes I had some similar issues but I can't remember now what the fix was. I know this may seem obvious but make sure you haven't included an extra letter or number in one of the hex values as that will give you errors. Also a good resource may be over at XDA I think there's a super long thread about APK manager and I'm sure there's some people that have had similar issues.

lol....I m 101% sure that u used a already themed framework or one from uot.
using purely stock framework should solve the issue.
