Long story short, I need a good set of high quality over the head headphones. I don't mind paying a little extra for extra quality, but I honestly don't know where to start looking. Can someone recommend a pair?

Price range? Type?
There are the ones that go totally over your ears, so nobody can see your ears, and then there are the ones that just sit on your ear, like earmuffs. Really the only good thing about the latter is in hot climates, it gets less sweaty, and if your in some kinda situation where you need to hear whats actually going on around you.Not sure on price range. I want something quality. I know there are some really good ones that are $1700 or so. Obviously I don't want to spend that much. I do want something quality and I don't mind paying for it, but nothing insane.
Not sure what you mean by type. I wasn't aware there were different types of headphones. I don't want earbuds. I want the over the head type headphones since they seem to be better than earbuds overall IMO.
I'll be using them purely inside while making feeble attempts to run a PA system. The ones that go over my ears are really what I'm looking for as I want something that will block out everything else and let me focus on just the one or two channels I'm piping into them.
Well if your willing to spend the $200, I would get the HD25-1 IIs. If you take care of them, they will last a long time; they will also be one of the best sets you can get without needing and amp to bring to the max potential.
