Help Can change notification sound for a MMS text.

I am having a problem with the custom alert on one of my contacts. It is an automated message that I receive like a normal text but it is sent like an email to text and comes in as an MMS. The alert sound reverts back to the default alert set for texts instead of the custom alert sound I set up in the contact settings. I have tried everything I can find on the web with no success... I really need to have a recognizable alert for this contact and any help would be greatly appreciated.

I believe it depends on the device. What is yours and what messaging app are you using?

I am using A galaxy S4... Android version 4.4.4... The default messaging app that comes loaded with the device.

Galaxy S4 doesn't have this option. As you say it treats sms and mms the same. Perhaps there's an app on Playstore that would do what you want? This looks a possibility but whether it can distinguish between sms and mms, I don't know. https://play.google.com/store/apps/...e.sms.email.sonidos.notificaciones.free&hl=en I guess it's a question of trial and error.
