Can generic or older charging cables be used?

Just wondering if the S7 doesn't require the cable that came with it for charging. I know it does for fast charging, but for just regular charging, could I use the cable for an S4, or just any generic microUSB cable?

I found a good quality generic cable was better than the stock cable that came with the phone. Even for fast charging.

If it's just for charging, any good cable with thick copper wires will do the job.

The charging block. But the cable isn't exactly A grade quality.

Yes, any cable that matches the phone connector will work. It's only the charger that is 'fast charging'.
