Can I change voice dictation settings

I want to be able to change my voice dictation settings so it will stop converting digits like "2" into words like "to." Is there a way to do that?

You using google voice detection or some other? As such the problem should not occur, AI is able to understand itself whether you are talking about the number or the word in a sentence.

The whatever it is voice dictation you're using AI should be able to determine what you're trying to dictate based on the context, but they're NOT perfect. Some are better than others.

Problem with something like dictating 2, does it come out as "2", "two", "to", or "too"?

Maybe try dictating numbers using aviation style English? Just a thought.

Thsnks. Here's what I am trying to do: We have product numbers that we have to physically write down, then fax to our distributor. For example -

#00234528

If, when dictating, I start by saying "Number," then read off the digits individually, leaving dead air between, I can end up with -

Number 0 0 2 3 4 5 2 8

I add "Comma 2" to include a quantity, and it will type

Number 0 0 2 3 4 5 2 8, 2

but it's tricky, and you have to be exact. Out of 5 or 6 items, I might get 3 correct. I'm trying to cut two hours off our ordering, and this is just too hit-and-miss. I'd much rather be able to disable the conversion option. As it stands, the (technology challenged) boss would never go for this!

This doesn't answer your question, but you'd be better off going with either bar coding or rf tags for inventory control.

To answer your question, I know google voice recognition has a generic mode and one personalized for your voice, which might require some training, but it's more accurate, if you're the only one doing the talking.

Thanks. We did get a scanner months ago (I won't get into the circus that ensued), and I will probably have to revisit that. I just wanted to make it a one shot deal. Open an email, read the numbers, hit send.

(I won't get into the circus that ensued),

I totally get it. I'm the IT manager for a wholesaler with around 12k active sku's and we went exclusively to bar codes and scanners about 8 years ago. I was there for the initial pain. Today you'd have to pry the scanners out of the cold, dead fingers of my warehouse crew. ;)
