Help Can I disable the green battery indicator icon on notification bar?

On my notification bar there is battery percentage and a green rectangle that also represents battery. I can turn off the percentage in the settings but not the green rectangle. I don't like green rectangles. Is there any way to make it disappear?

I have a Samsung XCover S7710 (also Galaxy Xcover 2) with Android 4.1.

I feel your pain! Every phone I've had I've much preferred the % indicator as opposed to the green/blue bar.

Not sure if there's any way of doing it stock, but GSAM Battery Monitor has an option to overlay the stock battery indicator, so you might want to download that, see if it works (it can be temperamental).

That worked! Yes , it is a bit quirky because it doesn't hide the green indicator, it just overlays it with a number, and the indicator changes places a little sometimes... but overall it does what I wanted it to do, thank you.
