Help Can I get a notifcation for texts only?

Sorry if this has been asked, but i couldnt find it.... Right now I get a notification when I get EITHER a text or new email. I would like to get a notification ONLY for texts, with no sound for a new email. I cannot find a setting that separates the two on my captivate.

Can this be done? Thanks. Barb

You do it in the email application, for Gmail, open the Gmail app, go to Menu-->More-->Settings, and scroll down to the Notification settings.
