Can I increase the DPI output of the camera?

After I take a nice panorama or single photos on my Verizon S5, the picture is beting saved with a dpi of 72 pixels. This happens when I have the resolution setting set to 16mp. So when I just did a pano, its showing 250+ INCHES horiontal size. But when you zoom in at 100%, it looks HORRIBLE because the dpi is set to 72pixels. Is there any way I can increase this to get more detail? I know I should not compare the S5 camera to a DSLR, but on a real DSLR camera when you open a photo in Photoshop the dpi is 300 pixels per inch. Sharp!

It seems you're mistaking the level of raw image capture detail for rendering DPI.

Scale it in Photoshop. Change the DPI to your preference (e.g. 72 for the screen, 300 for printing). This necessarily will also change the X and Y dimensions.

72 DPI is the standard for screen viewing, because most displays can't get any more (visibly) granular than that.

A higher DPI is better for printing. The higher the DPI, the better the quality. To a point. Also have to consider the printer's DPI.

So yeah, DPI is about rendering, not capturing. Just change the DPI with your favorite *shop and the image will be resized accordingly.
