Can I install pure Android Marshmallow?

Sorry for my ignorance. I am new to the Android world. Is it possible to install the pure Android Marshmallow (or another version) on a Samsung S6 Edge +? Or am I stuck with what Samsung provides? I don't care about the warranty.

As the firmware becomes available and you can upgrade. You can either do it yourself or wait for the over the air update.

Thanks. But can I somehow get rid of TouchWiz? Is it possible to run stock Andoid (5.x or 6.x) on this phone? The Samsung hardware is great but in two weeks since I have the phone I got error messages related to TouchWiz. I think Samsung is great in creating hardware but they are not a software company.

Touchwiz is just Samsung's launcher. You can install different launchers from the play store such as Nova Launcher, Google Now, etc..

Ok. I installed the Google Now launcher and installed the Material Design theme making it closer than what Google intended the OS to be. But sometimes the phone becomes unresponsive when you try to wake it up from standby. I think this is a wonderful phone in terms of hardware but the software is not good. Are there any custom ROMs with just the pure Android OS?

You have two problems.

One is Touchwiz, which is much more than just Samsung's launcher. It's a customization of Android itself. As such, the tentacles of Touchwiz reach deep, into nearly every part of the OS. Touchwiz also includes a suite of Samsung apps, for email, messaging, backup, etc. You can install another launcher such as the very popular and highly regarded Nova launcher, and that will allow all kinds of customization, including making your phone look much like plain vanilla Android. But by no means does that eliminate the influence of Touchwiz on the OS.

The other is since you bought the Edge version, it has the special Edge display. Pure Android makes no provisions for the non-standard Edge display.

You can root the phone and no doubt choose from several custom ROMs for the Edge by now. Before you do, please, read this first:
