Can I make all Gmails available offline?

Hello there

When using the Google Gmail app, is it possible to make all emails available offline? For example, when on the tube or out of reception zone Gmail loads up some of my more recent mails but not all of them.

I came unstuck whilst on holiday: I got to the check-in desk to come home and pulled out my G1 to access my Gmails which contained flight references etc. But, due to there being no roaming service available (remote Maldive island) I had no connection and therefore couldn't load up Gmails. (I'm not totally stupid - I had made a written note of flight details too!).

I tried to use the other standard email app on the G1 but that seems to access emails in the same "cloud" type way rather than store emails to the actual phone.

Am I missing a setting somewhere or is there an app that can do what I need?

Thanks in advance

no problem

Gmail>menu>settings>labels>change "number of days to sync" setting to a higher number - default is 4 days

Wow...I never understood what that meant. Thank you.

Do you think it would work in reverse to make things faster/less battery drain if I set it to less days?
