Can I pick my number?

I want to change my phone number but I was thinking If I can just change the area code if available or can I have a list of I numbers I can pick. Is any of this possible or are we stuck with there random generated numbers.

You're pretty much stuck with what they give you. Sometimes a good support tech will keep generating them till you find a number you like, but that's rare.

I haven't tried this personally, but one idea would be to sign up for google voice. They allow you to pick a number upon creation of your account. Then, transfer that number to your VM account.
