Can I SAFELY manually move files from My Files/device/android/data ---> to --->

I was thinking if I do this it would clear out all the files in Settings/App Manager/Storage/Miscellaneous files. Is this correct? And can I do it safely with out messing up the app?

There is only ONE app whose files I wish to move - it's a game app with a LOT of files taking up space on my device store. Most of the files are in a "Shared" folder under the main app's folder. I have no idea what these thousands of shared files are or what their function is.......I don't want to mess anything up. But I DO want the device storage space back. Got plenty of space on my SD card.

The app won't move to my SD card (guess the developer didn't design it that way), however there's about 20MB of "app data" from this app on my SD card, according to App Manager. And in My Files there are some folders already there in SD card/android/data. Not sure how/where to move the files from My Files/device/android/data.

If you just move the files, the app won't know where to find them. In all likelihood, it will redownload those files back to their original location.

Actually I bit the bullet and did it myself anyway. The app functions PERFECTLY...aaaaaaand I got my device storage space back! :D

This may not work with other apps, though... The developer must have set up multiple possible paths...
There are apps to symlink directories to the SD, though, which is essentially the same thing and causes no issues at all... Need root for those, though...

These are those cache /shared files I was talking about in the other thread. Should I not delete them then?

Cached fileds should be fine... If these are what you moved to Sd, then that explains why the app still works... It doesn't need the cache... But it will rebuild it over time...
In other words, the app probably isn't using those files you moved to SD, so they could be deleted also...

This is exactly what I wanted to know, thanks! I started to question it because although the app was working fine after I moved all those cache shared files to SD card, when I tried to update the app from Google play store it wouldn't let me... I kept getting an error message saying that the app couldn't be installed... I think it was "error 18." I had to do a clean install with the new version instead of updating and it worked, so I thought maybe I messed something up.
