Can I sell my used and still active MetroPCS branded device?

I have two MetroPCS phones, but I am switching one of the numbers over to PagePlus to get better service where I work. The number I am porting out is on an account with someone else, and they moved right after I paid my last bill. I am trying to get them to deactivate my SIM card and cancel service on the phone, but they are not very technical and they don't want to give me the account PIN. Can I just take my SIM out and sell the phone to someone? Will there be any issues activating the phone if they just take it into a MetroPCS store and give them the phone? I saw elsewhere that if I wait 31 days after the phone runs out the service will automatically disconnect and I can sell the phone, but I really don't want to wait over a month to sell my device. Thanks!

No, if it's still active on an existing Metro account it will bounce when the buyer tries to get it activated on their own Metro account. It has to be deactivated, with no money owed on the account, before it can be transferred to someone else.

Trouble, just like Fox said

If you try to activate it, they will see the phone IMEI in their system as attached to another account. They will ask you for the number, and pin to that account. It has to be removed from that account first, then you can use it.

PS.....how are you porting the number out, if you don't have the account pin? That is required for a port. Porting also cancels the current account, so you can sell the phone then. Story doesn't add up
