can I still get a phone exchange on a warranty exchange after I cancel insurance?

I have an LG f6.I don't want to get into my phones issues and unnecessarily lengthen this post, but the store rep told me I could exchange my phone on a warranty. A few days after this I decided that I am going to cancel my insurance next time I pay my bill.

If I cancel my insurance will I still be able to exchange my phone for the warranty replacement? Also, the store rep told me that when the new phone comes I will have to pay $15, for the "activation", I believe. That sounds like BS to me. Are they right?

If it's something that's covered by the warranty they should honor it without you having insurance. When I had my Optimus M they charged a $10 replacement fee when I did a warranty claim so it may be $15 now but not sure

as long as its not physical damage or something, regular warrant applies.

If its physical damage (You dropped it and shattered the screen, or dropped it in water). Then keep the insurance your gonna need it. However if its a hardware internal issue then it will be covered under warranty. If i were you and its not a Water, or Drop issue i would brick the phone to make sure it would not even fully load to make sure it appeared as a hardware/software issue. Not the most ethical of things to do, however it does work.
