Help Can I trust this app

MICKYB999

Lurker
Hi to all, scrolling through my app's I found this and the paranoia has set in "what is this app for" running on my Samsung phone "Beacon Manager version 3.0.7240061" If anyone can put my mind at rest I would be very grateful.
Mickyb.
No NOT that grateful before you ask LOL.

I think it has something to do with Bluetooth....my wife's S6 has that I believe...:)
Perhaps someone can verify my thoughts :)

Edit: let me add that I think it's nothing to worry about.

While I didn't take the time to read the whole article, it seem that the Beacon Manager is an app, built into Samsung phones, the is included to detect iBeacons.

So, yes...it is a safe app.

Thanks for the reply I searched Google before I posted it returned nothing found! so you could be right.
I stopped it running when I found it and thought I will wait until I checked it out or some services failed,
It has some serious permissions as to why I stopped it in paranoia : )

Yeah, not a heck of alot of info for it aside from a couple sites, of which @kct1975 linked.
I also heard of folks disabling it so.....

Thank's so much for the reply and link to the article, now I can sleep with only one eye open instead of both of them.

Because I know THEY are watching !!! lol but seriously thanks to both of you for your kind and timely replies.
