Can I USB tether my phone to desktop?

Can I tether my rooted lg optimus elite to a desktop. No internet available where I live for this computer and would like to mess around on it occasionally.

I used poot/superuser to root the phone. I have not done anything else to phone but delete VM garbage.

Have you tried wifitether or barnacle tether? They usually work pretty well on a rooted phone. You might have to get wifitether online as an apk file as they took it out of the app store the last time I checked.

I need USB tether. Wifi won't work. The PC I am trying to use doesn't have wifi

Have you tried downloading the Tether TrevE app? After you download and open, go to menu, settings, change device profile and select generic ICS/JB. Choose change set-up method, Netd-Ndc, Send Netd max client cmd. Make sure wither WiFi driver reload or WiFi driver reload 2 is selected as well as MSS clamping and routing fix. Then, you turn on the tethering by selecting the WiFi icon. Once you connect to your PC, the WiFi tether should show up under menu, access control. Good luck!

I have found that Pdanet works great if I load the usb driver on the PC. DUH! I was completely skipping that and could not get it to work. It is working great now and I have purchased the full version of Pdanet. It is really the easiest thing after the install. Thanks for your help!
