Can I use my VZW phone on Virgin Mobile?

I have an HTC Rezound with VZW and I'm half way through my contract but thinking of canceling it because I lost my job and can't afford VZW's high prices.

Is it possible for my to use my HTC Rezound on Virgin Mobile's network or would I have to buy one of their phones? Thank you.

I would say its possible in the hardware sense, based on the fact that it is a Sprint based provider, which means it at least uses the same cellular technology. However, you would need to find a way to configure the phone to work with Virgin's Mobile network, which would probably mean rooting and flashing a custom ROM so the phone isn't configured for Verizon in any way.

I would say its technically possible, but unless your up to the challenge or have found someone who has done it already on the internet, your better off getting one of their phones.

I'd wait until your contract is up before switching to a prepaid carrier. The ETF often offsets any value received from the switch. However once your clear of the contract, then the money saved is pure profit.
