Can I use Verizon upgrade to pre-order S7 with free Gear VR?

I'm still on an unlimited plan. I have a S6 because I use my parents' upgrades on Verizon and give them my old phones.

My dad is eligible for an upgrade (if they still do that?). Could I use it to pre-order the S7 and get the free Gear VR?
