Just got an Exhilarate. Everything was fine for 5 days. Suddenly, I can't send texts..."failed, error code 38". Online chat with at&t stumped the guy. haven't heard back, although I allegedly have a case number and someone was supposed to call me (3 days ago). in the meantime I've learned I can send texts when accompanied by a photo and I still receive all texts as well. I've backed up everything and was about to download a rooting app, but I am erring on the cautious side and thought I'd post this. I'm not much of a techie. Will check back later. Thank YOU!

Hello and welcome ,I have two things for you to try . First thing is to Power down and remove the battery for 5 minutes , then replace battery power up. If this does not work try putting your phone in airplane mode for 10-15 minutes , Then return your phone to its regular mode . This will reconnect the phone to the network . I hope this works for you.
Yeah, I already tried that, darn-it. Didn't work. The only thing I did on my phone since it was working fine is download a few apps...Kies, AllShare, and Qik Lite, plus re-down loaded GooglePlay. I played around with my settings for hours. I'm thinking the problem may lie in messages being connected and sent completely from an MMS app, or some other program that controls my image messaging. It might also be my SD card? I used the same one that was in my previous phone, Motorola Atrix II. I did format it to wipe it clean...and I have taken it out and so forth, all of this making no difference.Hello and welcome ,I have two things for you to try . hmmm .. ok Lets try one last thing . Go into your phone settings Try updating your phones , prl , also update your profile , and system updates . if you dont want to update prl thats fine. but the other two you should. let me know if this works .
