what i want to do is have the power button toggle the touch screen input off and on, with a single button press each time. i want to be able to turn any and all screen touch input off, including the ability to slide the notification bar down, so the only things working are the power button (to toggle the touch screen input back on) and the volume buttons to control music player volume... basically the power button blocks input but i can still see my screen..
as far as turning the screen completely "off", which the power button normally would do, i don't mind using a soft power key/widget to do that, or a long press of the power button would be even better
a bonus would be to have the screen turn a tinted color when the touch screen input is off, as a visual cue. there are some screen-tinting apps out there but not sure how they would relate to, or if they would run with, tasker.
can tasker do this or can someone point me in the direction of an app or combination of apps? i don't mind getting into programming if i need to, but just trying to find out if i'm looking in the right direction.
my phone is rooted, if that helps. verizon LG VS450PP w/ android 4.4.2
