I just heard about the honeycomb 3.1 update today. Many people said they received the update but mine still hadn't yet. I have my xoom rooted and running the tiamat kernel. Can this prevent the installation of OTA updates?
I don't own a zoom but I suggest heading over to the XDA forums and checking out the device page for Xoom. That is the best source for information for all things root. Those are the guys doing the rooting in the first place. As well as making the ROMS. Here is the link.
I will say that generally speaking if you are still running rooted stock you can still get OTA. That being said, it is not the case every time. The custom Kernal could likely be a problem as well. The XDA chefs will be able to help you, just make sure to SEARCH FIRST before making a thread!
You can get the ota, however dont download it. If you are rooted and try to install an ota update, it will unroot you, and you could be permanently unrooted and it could even brick the phone.
