Help can someone explain the 'on battery'

I don't understand the bit above the graph that says '2 day' or '2 mins' on battey? what does that mean, is that how long it has left or how long its been off charge. Because i saw someones who has 2% battery and it said they had 2 day on battery? can someone explain

I would say it states the "since charged" state.
