Root Can somone help me understand this alittle more?

Im new here but ive read around and im getting a behold 2 tommarrow and well the process of flashing to a new rom is kinda confusing i think i understand how to root but like i dont understand what odin and adb actually do and that actual process of flashing the rom sounds confusing. so can somone help me clear this up? please

adb is basically just like using a command prompt terminal in Linux or dos if you're more familiar with Windows. just follow instructions posted in the forums and you'll be alright. as far as flashing roms you do not have to root beforehand. odin is a piece of software leaked from Samsung which let's you upload system images to your phone. as far as flashing the Rom the most you will have to do with adb is make sure you have the proper drivers installed. most problems you might run into have already been addressed in these forums. check out the all things odin and adb post to get the initial setup going and most of the Rom pages will show instructions of how to flash the Rom. also check this site out www. theunlockr.com/2010/03/31/how-to-load-a-custom-rom-on-the-samsung-behold-2/ but ignore the part about rooting first. enjoy
