Can the Android play .ogg, and .flac?

WTF is .flac? That's one format I've never come across.

Its a lossless format like .WAV, but is non-proprietary. Its also slightly compressed, so its smaller than .WAV, but doesn't lose its quality.

As for the OP, you already know the answer for .OGG. But .FLAC isn't quite as straightforward. It can play them, but not natively. The only media player that I know of that can play .FLAC is Meridian (its free). If your okay with using Meridian (which I personally use anyway, since it can browse videos from within the app), then your all set.

I found at least 2 apps that play FLAC, but neither app worked well IMO. So I'm using mostly 400+ kbps AAC for now.

I'm able to play flac on my Captivate's stock music player. It doesn't read the artist or album art tags, though...

Which are the two apps you tried?

In particular, I'm wondering if one of them was Meridian, the app mentioned above by responder Depache.

Anyone else's comments on the viability and robustness of Meriden, or any other flac player, are also welcome.
