I have a Verizon Razr Maxx and for some stupid reason I dropped Verizon to go to Consumer Cellular.
Is there any way to use the Razr Maxx on their network?
Consumer cellular is a GSM system. Your phone is a CDMA phone, One doesn't work with the other. (It's like expecting to see pictures on a radio.) You can possibly use Straight Talk. See Straight Talk Compatibility Test to see if your phone will register on Verizon's system using ST as your network operator.
I'm trying to use my droid razr xt912 on straight talk. there is talk of this in the works and has been for a while. Fyi. there is a gsm radio in this phone but is locked by Verizon. I am on a few forums working to unlock it. if I find out how to get it done, I'll let you know. Please do the same if you find out how to get it done......WORK IN PROGRESS........
The razr can indeed be used with consumer cellular. I have a razr hd running on it right now. You have to do a seem edit to unlock the gsm bands required by consumer cellular (rooting the device is not required) instructions at:

Once that is done calls and texts should work just fine. For data/mms to work correctly you need to adjust the APN settings in your phone. This was a nightmare for me to figure out because i tried many different suggestions. What ended up working for me was creating a new apn (naming it whatever you want) and only changing one setting:
APN: att.mvno
This has my Razr HD fully working with the consumer cellular network.
