Can Xperia firmware be updated with XperiaCompanion?

Hi all,

Quick question.
Yesterday I decided to buy a 5 year-old model, Xperia lt28h which has old Android firmware and needs update. Can the firmware be updated easily with XperiaCompanion? If so, it's ok. I'm a newbie about Xperia, so I need info.
