Apps Can you change the background color of a menu item?

Hi Folks,

I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to change the default color of the menu items?

Basically I am putting a black button in each menu item but i get a nasty looking border around the image i.e. the default backround?

I think I have the solution to this. However, only if you're trying to do what I think you're trying to do...lol? Are you meaning to set the icon/item to transparent so it doesn't show? Like make it so the surrounding border is invisible so you just see the background of the frame?
