Can you force WiFi?

This is a newbie question: I've had my Droid X for only four days so far, but love it.

While at home, I sometimes have problems connecting to a network. I think the problem is that 3G is not as strong here, but I have a good WiFi network. Is it possible to have the phone use WiFi as the first option so I will keep the connection even if 3G is weak? Or is my problem something else?

turn 3G off and turn wifi on then wifi is the only connection...... you can easily put toggle widgets for both on one of your screens......... then when you leave your house you can switch back to 3G easy enough

I downloaded the switch networks app, and it worked fine. It even switched back to 3G when I left home.
