Can you use google voice for text and voice?

You get the number from Google voice and obviously you can make calls. Why can't you just cancel your voice and text plan and just keep your data package and use it like that? Will T-Mobile allow that?

Google Voice is NOT a voip application. It still uses your mobile provider minutes to connect to the Google Voice servers for both inbound and outbound calls.

There ARE voip applications available however, but none that are easy to setup. There are many tutorials already posted in these forums if you are interested.

Nevermind... I stand corrected. I thought that was something that could be done with it. I've only set it up recently and use it for the voicemail service.
