Canadian geese

I've lived in Kansas for many years. Up until a couple of decades ago, our sky and waters were completely free of Canadian Geese. I have no idea if it's due to climate change or a change in migration patterns but we are lousy with geese now. I have no complaints. They are a good looking bird and give the waters here some character. They certainly do poop a lot and the numbers here are so large that I'm guessing they impact the farming somewhat. They are a definite upgrade from the normal bird species that are found here. I just think it's odd that there are so many here now and we had none years ago.

Well when I lived in Florida there were a lot of geese, and from what I know the migrate to michigan where I live now, so I also found it odd that there no geese in Kansas, also maybe it that you moved from there migration area.

Birds poop when they take off "to lighten the load".
Canada geese infest golf courses in the winter. The scrapers for mud do not cover Ganse dreck.

I love them...they are all over the place here...they migrate in the fall ..their "honking" over head in a v formation is nostalgic to me...
