Canceling text messages?

Upon hitting "Send," is there anyway to cancel it before it sends? I remember on my LG Rhythm, I could hit the End button 2-3 seconds after hitting send and it would cancel the message. Anyone?
 
you can cancel it, i have done it before, but the speed at which it sends the message, its almost impossible to cancel before you realize what you have done.
