Cannot get Skype to login

i have the skype app and i absolutely cannot get it to sign in. when i hit sign in, it just comes up with a screen that says "signing in" but never does it. help please.

I have Samsung Mesmerize/Fascinate on the US Cellular Network btw

I could never get the Skype app to work on my Captivate.

Instead I use IMO.IM, which is a multi-im client, so I use it for Gtalk and AIM as well. However, it is limited to only Skype IM. No video or calls.

I had the same problem on a Galaxy 3 and found a workaround:

Create a new skype account and make sure not to use a dot in your username.
