Trying to use the instructions here.

First: do I have to be connected to a wifi to use voice dialing? That was not the case with my low-end 8 year old Motorola bravo. If this is true I think that sucks.
I am trying to set up voice dialing. I have done the following.
1. Clink on phone icon.
2. go to menu
3. choose "Settings"
4. choose "Call"
5. choose "More Settings"
At this point, I get the following error messages: "Failed to read data" "Network of sim card error"
I am on the AT&T network.
