Cannot share web links

Hi,
My first post.
I'm 75 and thanks to Textra getting much better at texting - well done the developers!

I simply cannot send a web link to any of my contacts - all other texts get through fine.
I have no problems on my PC using Chrome.
Increasingly I prefer my Samsung tablet.
I have dug into settings with no joy.

any, and all help would be appreciated because I don't get out much due to Mesothelioma.
regards,
Kevin. Leyland UK

Hey, best regards from the other side of the pond!

How exactly are you trying to send links?

There are multiple ways that this can be done.

I use browsers that are not so well known. Features like sharing links are quite easy, and generally right at my fingertips.

But because they are not well known and you are most likely using something else, showing you how it works with my browser might not be very useful.

So I need to find something the same or similar to a situaion where you would find yourself sharing a link.
Then I can make a screen recording video showing you exactly how I would do it in that instance.

I found a link to share on my Android Samsung tablet using Chrome browser,
then simply took the share drop down and took Textra as my source.
as I said, this method works quite fine on my PC - a Dell running Windows

Just long press the link, and a menu should pop up after a few seconds.
Select 'copy'.

If not, there should be a menu option on your browser called 'share link' and/or 'share'.

Choose that, and then pick your desired share app.

If the proper share app doesn't show in the menu, then pick 'save to clipboard'.

Now go to wherever you were trying to put the link (like a text or e-mail) and then long press the screen where you want the link to appear.

After a second or two a small set of options appears, and you select 'paste'.

You say you are using Chrome, which I do not use at all.
So I can only give general directions. I also do not use desktop/laptop computers or tablets, as my Android does what I need to do online.

If it would help more, I can make a screen recording showing how I copy/paste links.

Also, the copy/paste method works for most text in most situations, so it can be useful in other ways as well.

Then what happened? Can you walk us through, step-by-step, exactly what you're doing and exactly what happens?

If you can post screenshots, even better! Let us know if you need help with that.

Copy and paste one of those links you're having a problem with here. That might help us figure out what might be going on.
