Help Cannot transfer files from phone storage to SD card

[Android Question]

I got an error trying to move files from my phone's internal storage to microSD card via USB on PC:
"cannot move file. The device has either stopped responding or been disconnected." Replicatable every time.

Is there any way to successfully transfer files from phone storage to SD card? Preferably without rooting or factory reset.

Can you copy as opposed to moving them?

The OP has asked for help to move files and you say it's "pointless". I don't think that's very helpful. If you read their post, nowhere do they mention transferring to an external device.
The windows error message does not indicate a corrupt SD card, either.

"Can not transfer" That means that the system is not reading correctly, try enabling USB Debugging
