Cannot Write To SD Card ?

This subject has probably been beaten half to death by how.... but I just started building up my new Note 4 and, at first, thought somebody was joking: "Catch-22: You can put an SD card in to your Note 4; but you may not write to it."

This thing is not Rooted yet, but Rooting is on the list. 5.0.1.

Not being able to write to SD seems like such a huge deal that I am hoping that somebody has come up with workaround(s).

Lacking workarounds, is there any hope for reverting to 4.1.2?

FWIW, I rooted my Note 4 last night.

Did not do anything else (that I know of.... ) and my issues with Copying/Pasting to/from SD seem to have gone away (using X-plore and Root Exporer).

Maybe the only issue in the first place was User RCI.... or maybe whatever I did once with granting permission is sticking.... or maybe Rooting made the problem go away.
