cant access microsoft sites

I am having trouble accessing Microsoft sites, i cant access any of them. Could this be because I am tethering? I need to get into windows update, for updates since i just installed vista. Any help would be much appreciated.

I just tried and was able to go to several MS websites. USB tethering or WiFi hotspot shouldn't be an issue unless your carrier has set a data limit.

yes im using explorer, I checked under security and activex is enabled.

Is your Windows 'Genuine' and licensed? Microsoft Update checks for Genuine Windows.

Certain malware can also stop Windows Update from working.

You don't go to the Windows Update site in Vista...

Can you ping microsoft.com?

Can you browse their site by IP? Put 207.46.232.182 in your address bar.
