Can't add a contact on a ZTE N818

I can‘t add a contact to my phone. The manual says go to contacts, touch the icon to add a contact, but a message “You have disabled a required permission” comes up.
I went to settings, apps, contacts, permissions and change a couple things, but it still says the same thing when I try to add a contact.

This is my first cellphone so all this is new to me. I don’t see clear cache or how to reboot. I appreciate your help. I am only 80 years old, but you can call me slow if you want to.

I would take it to your carrier and let them show you how to add a contact.
You're paying them for service so they should honor all requests

I think this is the new edition Obamaphone (SafeLink, Assurance wireless), so carrier support is virtually non-existent

Solved- I added a contact to my Google account using the computer. The cellphone I have is a replacement. It is a newer model. The old phone was easy to add a contact and they are in Google. I’ll learn to use this new phone. I really appreciate your trying to help me.
