Can't add contractions to dictionary

I am having issues adding contractions to my dictionary. Everywhere I try to add a contraction to a dictionary, it doesn't accept the apostrophe apparently.

Is there a way around this? This is so annoying for me. Maybe an app I could get or something? idk.
