Can't attach media to text-message?

SweetxKiss

Lurker
I'm a long time iPhone user but I just switched from a 4S to a DoCoMo Japanese handset that's running Android 4.0

I have a data and messaging plan and had no problem sending mms on my iPhone. I go into the 'share' option of the picture I want to send and a whole list of apps like picasa, google+, etc. show up but not an option for messages. I go right into the message app and there is no option in the setting and no option in the conversation to attach any kind of multimedia. I want to avoid using some downloaded app when a setting like this should be included in the phone.

How do you send pictures in texts if the option isn't even there? Where did it go?
Sorry, I'm frustrated and I really need help with this.

Not sure exactly which phone you have, however, I have the HTC DNA from Verizon and I'm using the standard/default text app. When I open a new text message, I have an icon that looks like a paperclip in each message and when I click this icon, I'm given the option of attaching several different items including, pictures, files, etc. . Hope this helps.

Yes, I am aware of that feature, however, it's missing from my phone lol.
I'm pretty sure my phone came with stock android 4.0 so I don't know where the paperclip could have gone.

Did you ever resolve this? I just got a DoCoMo unlocked LG G2 and am using it on T-Mobile in the States and have the same problem: no paperclip on the Message app, and the Message app does not appear as a Share option on any picture app.

This something that's only available in Japan? - if you're not using a Japanese carrier, e.g. NTT DoCoMo, and not in Japan, this function is disabled or not available.
