Can't Delete Multiple Texts

Hey, I'm running Android OS 6.01 and just updated my Messenger app to 2.2.075. Now I can't delete multiple text messages at once. Before I was able to click on multiple texts (making the check mark on the letter in the circle) and delete all that were checked. Now with this new version, once one text has been checked, clicking on another text brings up the contact info instead of being checked off. Is there a way to revert back to the old way or am I stuck deleting one text at a time? Thanks.

I am assuming this is Android Messages not Facebook Messenger.

I'm not using AM right now but if you need to revert back to a previous version, you can get the apk at APK Mirror.

Yes, definitely Android messenger. Did I click the FB one (in the topic) by mistake?

You used to be able to revert back to a previous version in the App Manager. Now you have to go to the APK Mirror site you mentioned?

Does anyone know if this new messenger version has a setting for deleting multiple texts at once, or did they just remove that feature?

Thanks for the help.
