Cant factory reset my HTC One S

So, i forgot my android unlock pattern, now i need to type in my GMail and password, so i type it in but it says wrong password or email because i dont have access to the internet, so i try to factory reset it using hardware keys, but i cant because fastboot is turned on, so i am pretty much ******. What should i do?

Shut it down fully by pressing and holding the power button (will take 10 seconds or more, but it will work). Then you should be able to do it using the hardware keys to access recovery and perform a reset.
