Help Can't find Google Maps 4.0 in Android Market / Nexus 2.1 update 1

Newbie
Hi
i cant find or/and download new google maps.
I tried searching different keywords, m.google.com/maps, Even QR code.
Nothing helps.

Anyone?

The update did not include 4.0. The update included version 3.4. Version 4.0 was released post update to include Buzz integration.

Maps should be the number one ranked free application, look for it there.

Did you try Settings-->applications-->manage applications and look in there? Do you have the old Maps on your phone?

no maps in settings-manage applications.

but if i filter to all applications there is Maps.
Also i have it in menu and use it.
ver. 3.4.0 (#3413)

I updated to the 2.1 update 1, and it included maps 4.0 when I did the OTA update. I did not do it manually, so honeslty, I don't know.

The update did NOT give you version 4.0 of maps. It gave you 3.4.

"Google Maps: the Maps application with be updated to a new version, Google Maps 3.4, which will include:"

Nexus One | News and Updates

What it might do now is give you the latest version, which would be 4.0 at this point, that I can't tell you, but when the update was first announced and downloaded by the masses, it was version 3.4. Then Buzz was announced and 4.0 became the new version available for upload.

As to why this guy can't find it in the market place, I'm clueless. What about in your "downloads" section of your marketplace, not in there either?

Where do you live? Some users in other countries beyond the US and UK had reported problems of not being able to access GMaps 4.0

Just for the record, I received my phone in the last few days, updated it to 2.1 update 1, and also had to update my maps to 4.0 manually i.e. it was not part of update 1

I don't suppose Google would have pulled v4.0, as they are working on revising Maps in terms of the Buzz integration privacy issues (or lack of thereof!)?

Ive never updated maps. And haven't used maps since feb 1, when I was in houston.
I just looked at it and got the "check out buzz" blah blah blah, hit ok screen.
it's version 4
I forced manual update right after it was out there.

when I updated, I got 4.0 - i don't know how much clearer I can be. Why others aren't getting 4.0, who knows. Maybe it has to do with the build for some reason?? I got my Nexus last Friday. Charged it. First thing I did after that was do the update. 4.0 got loaded on. In 'About' for Maps, I see Ver. 4.0.0 (#4046).

In UK; didn't force update; have version: 4.0.0 (4046) gmm-android-google

Have no idea what I had before update.

Going into Marketplace > google maps (noted as installed) I have the option to "Open" or "Uninstall updates"
As gibson above asks - can you not see it in your marketplace - the one listed is version 4.0.0
