Can't find my pics

I have a Samsung Tab4  I recently discovered  that when I take a picture with the camera, the picture can't  be found in the gallery .  Where else could they be and more importantly WHY is this happening?

You may have set the default location to a cloud account like Google Drive or Drop Box, which the gallery will never scan. If you open your camera app and loot in settings you should see where they are being saved to.

It's also possible that as part of your sync, your Tab4 is moving photos to the cloud rather than saving a local copy, too. I assume you can still find the photos, just not in the Gallery?

I did find some of them  when I looked My files, but not all of them. I don't understand why? I haven't messed with any settings! Could it possibly  be a virus?

Highly doubtful.

When you take a picture right now, where does it go? The default for most cameras is /sdcard/DCIM/camera. If you are using a different camera app, it might save them to its own folder.
