Can't Find 'Settings'

JoeWood

Newbie
Folks, my phone suddenly reduced the volume so I can hardly hear, and also screen brightness.

I can't find 'Settings' to change them back. How do I find Settings?

Usually the quickest way is to pull down the notifications and look for a little gear icon. Or go into the app drawer and look for the "Settings" app.

But for those specific two I'd expect there to be other options, e.g. press the volume key and look for a gear icon there (which will let you access all volume settings rather than just the default media volume, though it may be media volume you want). For screen brightness most devices have a slider visible in the notification shade.

Note that these are answers for general Android user interfaces: I don't have an S10 so don't know what changes Samsung might have made (Sammy do tend to modify the user interface). But as those answers would be true on my old Samsung tablet as well as on my Pixel phone (running Android 9) I'm hopeful that they'll also be true for the S10.

If you can't find it in the app drawer, it might be tucked away in a folder.

Samsung is known for putting apps in a folder that should be in the app drawer.
