Root Can't fully download V7 OTA and Upgrade Assistant doesn't even recognize my phone, any ideas?

Been trying to update since noon, OTA refuses to use wifi, so i've used about a GB of data trying and the update keeps failing around 50%. The Verizon Software Upgrade Assistant reads my device, but then doesnt show up under "Select a device to upgrade" I want the official Update, any ideas?

BTW I am currrently at V6B if that helps.

Are you using the USB cable that came with your Spec?
Believe it or not, it makes a difference. When trying to use an alternate cable I've found it never picks up in any of the upgrade apps.

Is your phone currently rooted or have CWM on it?
That can be a factor as well.
Also make sure you have all the current drivers
(LG VZW_United_WHQL_v2.3.1).

the ICS update will not take using wifi, you need to be on 4g/LTE and update downloads in about 5 mins. 3g had error for me and I had to restart. You also need to be stationary and have as much coverage (full bars) as possible otherwise the packets of data will fail and cause this issue - ICS Official W/Root / Super User / & Teether !!

Probably because it's a major update and not just another gb update.

This is probably your best bet, and seems to be the best advise.

I apologize if this seems simplistic, but when you connected your phone you did make sure to put your phone's connectivity mode to Internet -> Modem, right? Charge or Mass Storage won't work for the download tool.

Yeah, I was. I actually just managed to get it to download. I threw it into safe mode and let it download while I sat across the room trying not to look to hard in its direction. Thanks for all the advice guys.
