Can't get the "blue lock" to stop.

I could use some help. I've talked to Samsung support and they say it's a third party thing. Well true or not I cant get it to stop. Does anyone know what is causing this and how to get it to stop? There are some screenshots of what I'm talking about. It happens when I'm playing games and I dont touch the screen for about 2 mins. It a separate lock then the bio lock that Samsung has.
This one just wants me to swip and it unlocks. In fact you can still see the screen and hear the sound. For the love of God someone please help!

I'm sure Samsung are right: it's one of the apps you've installed. The question is which? I've never seen this before so don't have an answer.

Does it happen with any app that keeps the screen on long enough, or just some? If only some apps that would be a clue.

You need to work out which app and either change its settings or remove it. Maybe start by looking at apps with the privilege to draw over other apps (which has legitimate uses, so you will have innocent apps with this, but I would guess that would be needed to do what you see here).

At this point in time it seems to only do it to games. Odd thing is , and a bad thing on my part, I only download games and lots at a time so to just start deleting them to find the one would really suck. The other thing is sence I only download games why would a game be designed to lock the screen of any game played?

Do you have other apps that keep the screen on? Otherwise it could be that it comes on after a couple of minutes for any app but it's only the games that keep the screen on long enough without being touched.

There's nothing special about games otherwise, so if it's happening in multiple games I suspect it would happen in other things.

As for why, good question. Some apps have been seen to add extra lock screens with adverts on them, but I didn't see any ads there (unless you have some decent and blocking?).

I use my email, Netflix, facebook.....and can leave then with out touching the screen and no lock. It's just the games. This just started on the update before this last one. Before it would lock and unlock the same way but now after yesterday's update, I did it late, theres now a 'blue lock' in the middle. That's why I think it's a Samsung thing but they say no. If that's true then way did the Samsung update change the icon/add a blue lock icon? The update shouldn't have messed with a third party app.

Could be one of those games itself doing it, when it was updated? Did any of those games come from Chinese publishers? Some of whom are notoriously spammy.

Funny (but not really) I have the same problem. It isn't just games, it all apps. I'm trying to figure out which app is causing it too so if you find it let me know and I'll do the same.

'Blue lock'?

Tell you what, it's late right now but tomorrow I will type out some apps I have. Look at the list and tell.me the ones you have. I will keep this up untill you have a complete list of my apps. When I'm done the apps that we have in common might be the problem. Sound good?

Are you a gamer? Do you have any games? I ask because if you dont then I will start with non game apps.

I found my problem. Wasn't a 'blue lock' but a 'slide to unlock' every time the screen was steady for a while. It was an scanner app. Don't know the name because I deleted it and then check to see if that was it and it stopped doing it and then didn't remember the name but it was an app that was supposed to not need to you log in when you were in known places (like home) everytime you walked away from the phone. Didn't work that well anyway. Hope this helps some.

I'm glad you found your problem the only scanner app I have is a qr scanner.

I get it only on games and, presently, I'm only playing games from Word Scapes. It has to drain the battery because the screen never fully goes to sleep. I hate it & it's starting to really piss me off. If you have an Android pad you install the same game/games on the pad as the phone & see if it replicates. I'm going to try it now.

I'VE GOT THE ANSWER! Since this was February everybody probably has the answer but if not - it's easy:
From any game screen just swipe up from the bottom of the screen & on the left you will see the GAME TOOLS symbol. Tap it and you will see your answer.

Did you try any of the possible solutions and ideas already posted in this thread? Of course I've never seen this issue for myself.

The setting is called "accidental touch protection". As of writing, it's in settings > display > accidental touch protection. I know that this is 3 years late, but hopefully it can help people in the future. I'm also disappointed that no one was able to give the name of the setting, especially samsung's own support line. I can understand people on the internet not knowing since this was probably a new setting at the time, but samsung themselves? That's sad.
