Can't log in to websites with stock browser

I have a Nexus One running 2.2 and I can't seem to log in to any websites (forums for example). I enter my username and password, hit log in, and... nothing.
Is this a common problem with the stock browser? I'm new to Android and not sure if there's something wrong with my settings or what, but I'm kind of mad about this. Any suggestions? And I would like to use the stock browser if I can, rather than download another one.

No problems with the stock browser on my Desire (2.1).

But most I using Tapatalk Pro (when the forum has the Tapatalk plug-in )
Tapatalk is a great app for browsing, reading and posting in forums.

This forum hasn't Tapatalk , but in August should coming a formum app.

Seems like turning the phone off and back on fixed it. Strange...
