cant play mp3s any more

I have a m. droid, and for some reason I can't play mp3s any more. it says the file format is not supported, I have imusic tao, could this have some thing to do with it, I didn't have any problem till after I upgraded that app and was down loading on it more frequintly. I have tryed to down load a new player(mixzinglite) yet still get the same message, so the problem has to be some where in the default player, but I can't seem to find any indepth settings for it, if you need any more info on stuff I have done on my phone since I've got it let me know,

Well after turning my phone off and back on again it will play mp3s again but all my media is gone, self deleted, this is weird

i had this problem. sorry, i didn't see your thread sooner. all i did was connect the phone to my pc and play a few songs on my comp. then disconnect and all was back to normal.
